VACATION IN SO DAKOTA WITH BRANHAMS

Here we are in Custer So. Dakota. All 16 of us in front of the cabins we rented for a week.
Ellen & Bud with Kristi Dawn and Jason. Tina & Blake Tubbs with Nyah and Trayson.
Jessie & Rob Price with Gunner, Bella and Ruger. Garn & Dorothy with Grandson Bridger
To Mt. Rushmore

What a awesome sight the faces of
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincon
Next stop Crazy Horse. Did you know all four Mt. Rushmore faces will fit inside his head.
Then to Bear Country
The area called Needles was very interesting. Six very small tunnels a car could barely fit through
Then the very tall rock called the NEEDLE.
Next stop was the ALPINE SLIDE. Here Ellen & Bud are rideing to the top.
Bridger enjoyed his ride down

Jessie was going a little too fast. Does she look scared?
Here we were having a picnic then everyone went swimming. This is CUSTER PARK. Kristi Dawn is looking for pine gum but she wouldn't chew it.
Lots of interesting rocks in CUSTER PARK. This is the PRICE FAMILY.

Now the TUBBS FAMILY looking thru the same hole in the rock.
BRIDGER felt very important having a national forest named after him.
Garn was also pretty proud to visit MARTIN'S COVE,
where his G. Grandfather Clark Allen Huntington helped carry the saints across the Sweet Water in the winter of 1856
Here is Brider by the Sweet Water River and one of the monuments to C.A. Huntington
What a nice way to end a wonderful vacation, sitting by the fireside singing our favorite old family songs. THANK YOU BUD AND ELLEN FOR SHARING YOUR FAMILY WITH US.

Have had a very busy month.
This is at the Flanigan reunion.
First one since my mother died.
This is my Grand Daughter Ciera and I
participating in the talent show.

This is a long lost cousin David,
he is the only Flanigan to carry on my Grandfathers name.

Then we went to Alaska to visit
our friends the Hackworths, Allen & Loni.
What a awesome time we had.
This is at the airport where they picked us up.
This is Garn and Allen
at the Byron Glacier in Portage Lake area.
At the zoo the bears were soooooooooo cute.
The moose were walking around in neighborhoods.
After coming home from Alaska we went
to my Hurricane High Class Reunion.
Do you recognize any of these OLD FOLKS?

The CRACKS again

Today the Stonehocker's and Huntington's made another visit to "THE CRACKS". We got way more than we expected, as the desert was full of wild flowers. In the background you can see Pinevalley Mtn. and Zion. So now is a wonderful time for you to make this little excursion.

HOW TO FIND THE CRACKS AT VIRGIN, UTAH

The Cracks at Virgin, UT are a very intersting formation of limestone on the Hurricane Fault Line, and at one time was the bottom of a inland sea. The CRACKS are formed from earthquakes and movement along the fault line. Some of them are still very deep but most have been filled in from erosion and debris. To locate the CRACKS, follow SR 9 through Hurricane and LaVerkin. Go toward Virgin and when you come to the OLD SHEEP CORRAL turn right (south) past the corral to the very old paved road. Turn right then take the first left and go to a sandy intersection. Stay to the left and follow the road approximately 1 mile. When you come to a steep sandy down hill, STOP, unless you have a 4 wheel vehicle. You can walk from there and enjoy the beautiful interesting formations. HAVE FUN, BUT BE CAREFUL.
